SBA LEAGUE RULES

AGE RULES

Players must play in the age group associated with their age as of September 1st of the current year. Exceptions may be made if a parent wants their child to play-up. This is contingent upon SBA's board approval.

TEAM FORMATION

Each player must attend the player Skills Assessment session scheduled approximately two-weeks prior the Drafts. You can confirm the dates for the player Skills Assessments on this website. Players are assessed for general basketball and athletic skills. These Assessments allow the coaches within each age division to see your child first-hand prior to the Coach’s Draft. The Draft takes place after player evaluations in a way that is fair and fosters very competitive teams and games during the season. Team notifications to the parents will take place shortly after the Coach’s Draft.

1. Games will be played in (4) 8 minute quarters (excluding the 13 & UP Boys Division).  The clock will stop for time-outs and any unusual delay of the ball in play.
